Memory Road ...

So I'm sitting in my little cubicle at work eating some of these

and these

and it is reminding of all the wonderful memories I have of my Grandma and Grandpa White and Richfield. Without fail my Grandma would have a large jar full of peanuts and candy corns every time my family would go down to visit. Her house usually was warm and smelled of some delectable food that she had finished with perfect timing of us walking in the door. Thinking of the amazing cook that my Grandma is made me think about how the motto of never leaving hungry is strictly adhered to while in Richfield.

I can remember all the times my Grandpa would take us on a walk around the yard to show his amazing and immaculate garden (seriously, they have the greenest thumb ever). Seeing cousins that I hadn't seen in months and in some cases years was always exciting and then making the trek down the street to the Dairy. Nothing is better than a slush with ice cream in it from the Richfield Dairy.

My Grandma and Grandpa White are incredible and my walk down memory lane has made me want to go and visit them in Richfield where time slows down and things become simple and I am completely enveloped in a feeling of being loved. As soon as things slow down in school, I'm making the trip.

I love this! Makes me miss trips to my own grandparents' house. And I was laughing out loud at the previous post . . .not about you choking of course, but the part about Julie and the guacamole song. I'm glad you're ok! Sorry to ramble on here. My computer is being lame and won't let me use facebook! Ahhhhh, Martin Fujiki, bless his heart. The man is so knowledgeable, so meek, and yet, so unapproachable. I do remember flash cards coming to my aid when studying for his tests. I wonder if they are the same ones I took. I wish I had more advice! If there are any questions I can answer, I'm always happy to help! Good luck!

Seriously that was a lovely memory and just goes to show that good things always come from candy corn :)

Fun memories. My sister and I got to talking about our Great Grandma and how she always had salt water taffy and the different places she kept it. It's fun to go down memory lane.

I was thinking similar thoughts just the other day. You can't beat peanuts and candy corns (unless it's a slushy with ice-cream from the dairy) Your post made me homesick and realize that I need to take my girls down for a visit to Grandpa and Grandma's so they can experience all the same fun things I got to while in their home.

You are so lucky you live in the same state. I wish I could fly out and spend time with them. I think about the good times often.

I am on my way to buy the candy corns and peanuts. Ron is in Richfield heaven when I "make" up a batch for him. Now if I could learn to make those giant size cinnamon rolls that grandma White bakes. I still remember the smell of yummy things on my first visit to meet grandma and grandpa......Aunt Helen
